Welcome to Hygge Studio – we are so glad you have wandered into our world!
We are a creative studio, specialising in telling your story through events with aesthetic details. Hygge Studio was established in 2016 and is led by creative directors Rachel Evans and Lucy Temme who between them, have a powerful collection of skills in management, graphic design, floristry and interior styling, alongside a vision of creating events that deliver emotions, not just experiences. Together, they lead a dream team working magic behind the scenes to elevate your events and wedding to heights you can’t even imagine! Tell us what you’re building (in life, business, love) and we’ll curate it. We even have a new space on King William Road where we will run magical in house workshops and will also be available for you to hold your own HYGGE affair.
About Rachel
As a formally trained graphic designer, Rachel initially founded Hygge Studio as a boutique graphics studio consulting with individuals and businesses on branding and logos, website design . Her natural flair for floristry, and background in visual merchandising for fashion-giant Anthropologie in London strengthened her creative eye for all things aesthetically pleasing.
Rachel’s unique approach to styling and floristry sets a Hygge design apart from the rest, combining natural elements and a large dose of whimsy and imagination with vibrant colour, layers of love and creative use of everyday objects. She will always see the magical side of something, but don’t write her off as simply a ‘creative’, she can estimate custom build costs, lighting install figures and order florals within budget without compromising the look like a mathematical fairy godmother.
About Lucy
With a degree in Journalism, and extensive experience as a manager and visual merchandiser for local Adelaide retail stores One Rundle Trading Company for nearly 7 years, and more recently Living By Design, Lucy combines her skills in business and interior styling and oversees the co-ordination of event planning and styling.
After returning home to Adelaide from managing Melbourne-based interiors boutique and gallery, Fenton + Fenton, Lucy was a Business Development Rep at Eco Outdoor, working alongside architects, interior designers and builders, all strengthening her eye for design which shows in the event styling concepts and instagram feed. Through planning her own wedding during this time in 2016, Lucy realised there was an opportunity in Adelaide to offer couples more than what was currently available.
Her attention to detail is unrivalled, just have a glance at her wedding spreadsheets, event schedules or table settings. Her ability to foresee the most unforeseeable issues at an event, ensures each and every couple is in safe hands.
How we work
Hygge Studio has developed a strong following, with a reputation for unique and creative wedding styling, many of our couples from interstate or overseas. Our niche is the ability to assist couples whole heartedly, from start to finish, completely in house. Normally, couples find themselves jumping between suppliers and vendors to help bring the most important day of their lives together, however Hygge Studio offers the whole package of wedding styling, planning, floristry, graphics, lighting and hire. Once we come up with a concept for the wedding based on the couples vibe, we start designing, building and creating from our studio on King William Road, all by our Hygge team. Having one team completely across your wedding day, ensures consistency of style and transparency of communication. It also results in savings to the hip pocket by condensing the number of teams from different suppliers, all with different visions in mind and additional staffing and delivery fees on the books.
You may be super event savvy yourself and only need us to do some floristry, design some graphics or provide you with a bar from our inventory range; no problem! No job is too small.
In the broader events realm, we work directly with businesses and individuals, creating and consulting on campaigns, brand activations and events of all sizes. Our portfolio features private parties (dreamy Hen’s days, birthday and engagement parties, chic dinner parties), corporate functions and community events. We regularly work with local councils for large events, Westfield and Harbour Town, and small businesses on brand launches and photoshoots, as well as activations for large public events and festivals.
